5 policemen including OC closed in Habiganj

Five policemen, including Habiganj’s Shayestaganj Police Station OC Mozammel Hossain, have been closed on charges of founding their involvement in illegal money transactions.
Habiganj Additional SP (Administration) Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter on Saturday night.
He said Lutfur Rahman, the Manager of RFL Best Buy, was going to Alipure on his customer’s motorcycle on September 14. At that time Shayestaganj police seized the motorcycle and wanted to show the documents in front of the Square Factory on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
But the driver informed that the documents were at home, and then left the motorcycle in the custody of Lutfur Rahman and went to take the documents from his house. Police took Lutfur Rahman to the Police Station as the driver was unable to bring the documents.
Shayestaganj Police Station OC Mozammel Hossain later detained him and demanded money. Otherwise, he threatened to sue him for being involved with yaba business. At one stage, Lutfur Rahman was released from the Police Station at night after giving them TK 28,000.
On September 17, Lutfur Rahman lodged a written complaint with SP Mohammad Ullah of Habiganj. The SP formed a committee to investigate the allegations. Initially, 5 policemen including OC were closed as the allegations were found to be true.
Additional SP Anwar Hossain said the investigation underway on this matter.
