5 on way to Shafi`s namaz-e-janaza injured in road crash

At least five people were injured in a collision between a microbus and a covered van on Dhaka-Chattagram highway at Darogarhat area in Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram on Saturday morning.
Sitakunda Fire Service's station officer Tasharaf Hossain said that the Chattogram-bound microbus was hit from behind by the covered van coming from the same direction. Five people injured in the accident and were taken to Chattogram.
It has been reported that the passengers in the microbus were going to Chattogram to take part in the namaz-e-janaza of Shah Ahmad Shafi, the supreme leader of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Shafi’s body has arrived at Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam, popularly known as Hathazari Madrasa.
The chief of Hefajat-e Islam passed away on Friday evening while being treated at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital, a day after stepping down as the director-general of the Hathazari madrasa in Chattogram.
He had long been suffering from different old-age complications including high blood pressure and diabetes. His namaz-e-janaza will be held on Hathazari Madrasa premises at 2:00 pm today. Later, he will be buried at a graveyard of the madrasa as per his wish.
