5 killed in Tangail road crash

Five people were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks in Tangail. At least three people were injured at the time.
The accident took place at the Gharinda area on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway around 6:00 am on Tuesday.
It was initially reported that the accident was caused by dense fog. However, the identities of the casualties were not immediately known.
Confirming the information, Tangail District Fire Service’s assistant director Zulfiqar said, “a Dhaka-bound vegetable-laden truck collided with the northern region-bound truck that was carrying a printing machine. The accident occured due to dense fog on the road.”
“Four people crushed under the printing machine and died on the spot and another died at the hospital,” he also said, adding that the injured were rushed to Tangail General Hospital.
