Four people, including a BGB member, have been killed in a clash between members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and villagers in Matiranga upazila of Khagrachhari. Another woman died of cardiac arrest after the incident.

The clash took place at Gazinagar Bazar in the upazila on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as BGB-40 soldier Shawn, Md Sahab Miah Prakash Musa, and his wife Ranju Begum, their son Ali Ahmed, and Ali Akbar.

Deputy Commissioner of the district Protap Chandra Biswas said that senior officials visited the scene and hospital. A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident.
