5 injured in B`baria septic tank blast

Five people were injured in a septic tank blast at TA road in Brahmanbaria.

The accident happened on Saturday night at a shop called VIP Bakery & Confectionery on TA Road in the city. The names of the injured were not immediately known.

Upon receiving the news, the members of Brahmanbaria Fire Service started the rescue operation.

Witnesses said the locals started running after the sudden explosion at night. Later it was seen that smoke was coming out of the VIP bakery. Initially, local people started the rescue operation. Upon receiving the news, the fire service men joined them. 

Brahmanbaria Fire Service senior station officer Abdus Chhamad said the blast was believed to have been caused by gas leakage from an abandoned septic tank under the shop. We have started the rescue operation. The injured have been shifted to District Sadar Hospital.
