5 dead in Serum Institute fire

At least five people were killed in the fire at India’s Covid-19 vaccine producer Serum Institute of India in Pune on Thursday.
The state officials confirmed the information of deaths three hours after the fire engulfed.
Rajesh Tope, State Health Minister, said, “The fire was caused by welding sparks at the construction site at the Serum Institue of India.”
The inflammable material at the site aggravated the fire, he added.
Earlier, a terrible fire broke out at the Terminal 1 gate of Serum Institute of India on Thursday.
