Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested five active members of the banned militant group
RAB has arrested five active members of the banned militant group Ansar al-Islam from the Rupnagar area in the capital.
RAB-4 ASP Md. Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed the information. However, the identities of the detainees have not been known yet.
“Upon receiving information – five active members of Ansar al-Islam staying at Rupnagar area in the capital – the RAB conducted a drive around 11:00 pm on Friday. Extremist books and leaflets were recovered from them at that time,” said ASP Md. Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury.
The senior RAB official also said that detailed information in this regard will be given through a press release.
