4800 meter of Padma Bridge visible as 32nd span installed
The 32nd span of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge was installed on Sunday at Mawa point making 4800 meters visible out of total of 6.15km of the main structure of the bridge.
The 150-meter long span was installed on the pillar no 4 and 5 at the Mawa point this morning.
The 32nd span was scheduled to be installed on Saturday. However, it was canceled due to the heavy current of the river.
Earlier on June 10 last, the 31st span of the Padma Bridge was installed bringing a total of 4650 meters of the structure into view. The 6.15km-long bridge will have a total of 41 spans.
A source of the project on Saturday told media that all of the 41 spans were scheduled to be installed by October this year but the work was suspended as the water level increased by more than six meters.
