4.6-magnitude quake hits off Khagrachari

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake shook the southeastern district of Khagrachari in Bangladesh on Saturday morning, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said in a statement on its website.
According to USGS, the quake felt at 9:21 am local time in Bangladesh. The epicenter was reported at 41.3 kilometers below the surface.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
The magnitude of the earthquake was reported 4.1 on the Richter Scale, said the Seismology Center of India
The 4.1-magnitude quake had a depth of 50 km, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), saying “the epicenter was reported at Khagrachari, located 173 km from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.”
According to Indian media reports, tremors were felt in various parts of India after the quake. However, no damage or casualties were reported.
Earlier, Sylhet was shaken by a moderate tremor last Saturday. The magnitude of the tremor was 5.4 on the Richter Scale. The quake also shook Manipur in India. The epicenter of the mild tremor was reported at Morigaon.
