410 new cases reported in country

Five more COVID-19 patients died in the country while 410 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours. 

With the new fatalities, the death toll from the pandemic has risen to 8,384 in the country, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release on Thursday (February 25, 2021).  

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,44,954 as 410 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.  

Earlier on Saturday, 428 COVID-19 patients were diagnosed while five deaths related to the disease were reported.   

According to the release, the recovery count rose to 494,955 after another 957 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.   

The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases. 

Meanwhile, 438,560 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 10,886 died from the pandemic in the last 24 hours. The United States has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period. 

The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 219 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of this afternoon, a total of 113,172,309 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 2,510,567 while 88,776,996 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
