41 die, less then 2000 infected in 24hrs in country

41 more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 4593 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,31,078 as 1827 new cases were confirmed during the period. 

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the information issuing a press release on Wednesday.  

According to the release, a total of 14,755 samples were tested at 93 authorized laboratories across the country during the time. Besides, the recovery count rose to 2,30,804 after another 2995 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.  

The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases. 

The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Wednesday afternoon, a total of 27,762,097 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 902,315 while 19,845,810 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
