Later, Monir’s son named Menhaz Zaman was arrested in front of the house. Police are investigating the incident.

‘It’s a murder’, according to Montreal police. The boy, who was arrested, is mentally ill. He is believed to have committed the murder by being intoxicated. He first told the murder of the family members by calling a friend in Montreal.

Meanwhile, Menhaz Zaman, 23, is in custody and appeared in a Newmarket courtroom on Monday. He was remanded into custody and is expected to reappear in court via video link on August 2.

Police received a call shortly before 3:00 pm local time on Sunday about several people possibly injured inside a home on Castlemore Avenue in Markham, a city about 30 kilometers northeast of downtown Toronto.

Immediately after the call, the officers arrived at the home encountered a man at the front door. Police took him into custody, then shortly after the arrest, they searched the home and found the four bodies.

“We are not looking for any further suspects in this case at this time,” Const. Andy Pattenden told reporters near the scene on Monday. “We do believe that the man we have in custody that has now been charged is responsible for these murders.”
