4 killed in clash over dominance in Magura

Four people were killed in a clash between supporters of two rival candidates in the upcoming Union Parishad election in Magura Sadar Upazila.

The clash took place between supporters of both parties for establishing dominance at around 4 pm on Friday Jagodal village of Jagodal union Parishad in Sadar Upazila. 

The deceased were identified as member candidate Sabur Molla, his brother Kabir Molla, his cousin Abdur Rahman, and Imran Ali.

Twenty others were seriously injured in the incident. They have been admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital. 

Confirming the information, Additional Superintendent of Police Kamrul Hasan said that police have been deployed in the village as tension is prevailing in the area. No arrests have been made so far, he added.
