The southern part of Turkey is burning with wildfire. The fire has spread around the city of Manavgat due to hot weather and strong winds. So far, four people have died in the blaze near the city. More than 180 people were injured.

According to ANI, citing the authorities, dozens of Turkish forests were still raging on Friday and Thursday. The fire spread rapidly due to extremely hot weather and wind.

Hundreds of people have already been evacuated. Firefighters are conducting rescue operations and trying to put out the blaze. Many of those rescued have been burned and their property damaged.

As seen in the TV footage, all the houses are burning. People are fleeing the area. Firefighters are working to put out the blaze by helicopter.

Turkey’s agriculture minister says the body of an 82-year-old man has been found while evacuating people from the Çeltikçi area, 18 kilometers northeast of Manavgat. Besides, the bodies of two more people were found in another area 20 km east of Manavgat. A firefight, a drone, 19 helicopters, about 250 vehicles and 960 crews were engaged in the firefighting operation.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency said people had been evacuated from areas detected as homes that “could be engulfed in flames”. Several houses, office buildings, farms, agricultural lands, greenhouses and vehicles have already been burnt to ashes.

Authorities are investigating whether anyone torched the blaze to the southern part of the country, a popular tourist destination.
