4 killed in Bhairab separate incidents

Two people were killed in a clash between two villagers at Bhairab in Kishoreganj. The incident took place at Lundia and Khalapara villages of Agangar UP of the upazila on Saturday morning. The deceased were identified as Pavel Mia and Mukbul Hossain.

Meanwhile, a man named Faruk Khan of Chandib’s Kha Bari of the municipal town was stabbed to death by snatchers in the upazila around 9:30 pm on Friday and another bagged body of Sharif Mia was recovered from the Gazirtek area on Saturday morning.

Four killings at the hands of snatchers and clashes have caused a stir in the area. The families of the victims are mourning.

According to the locals, the clash took place between the Sheikh family of Khalapara village of Agangar UP of the upazila and the people of the Shikder family of the same village around 9:00 am. A youth named Pavel Mia of the Sheikh family was killed in the hour-long clash. Later, at around 12:00 pm, people from both sides clashed again in Lundia village. At that time, another youth named Mukbul Hossain of the Sheikh family was killed by the enemy. At least 30 people from both sides were injured in the clashes.

Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the bodies of the deceased and sent them to the Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. 

Bhairab Police Station OC (investigation) Mahfuz Hasan Siddique confirmed the deaths of four people, including two killed in the clash and two by snatchers.
