4 killed as truck hits microbus in Rajbari

Four people, including three members of the same family, were killed in a collision between a truck and a microbus on the Daulatdia-Khulna highway in Khankhanapur area of Rajbari Sadar upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Suvya Mandal, Liza and Sohail Mandal, residents of Mujibnagar area of Meherpur district, and truck driver Ripon, a resident of Jibannagar area of Chuadanga district. Three people were injured in the accident.
Confirming the information, IC of Khankhanapur Investigation Center Shahidul Islam said that the truck coming from opposite direction hit the Dhaka-bound microbus from Meherpur at the Khankhanapur Choto bridge area at around 10:00 am after the truck driver lost control over the wheel.
Three passengers including a child of the microbus and the truck driver died on the spot in the incident. The helper of the truck driver and two rickshaw pullers were seriously injured.
On information, the police and fire service men rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital.
