4 held over killing Gauripur Swechasebak League leader

Four people including UP chairman have been held over the murder of Mymensingh's Gauripur Swechasebak League leader Masudur Rahman Shuvro.
Masudur Rahman Shuvro was the general secretary of the Gauripur Upazila Swechasebak League. He was killed on Saturday night at 10 pm by unidentified miscreants. Two of his associates were also injured in this incident. They were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
According to locals, Masudur Rahman Shuvro was having tea with his associates at a tea shop in Pan Mahal area of Upazila Sadar. At that time a group of 8-10 miscreants came with two CNGs and attacked him.
The miscreants hacked Shuvro at random and leaving him seriously injured. Later he was taken to Mymensingh Medical College in a critical state where duty doctors declared him dead.
Mymensingh Medical Emergency Medical Officer Ashesh Kumar Roy said he was brought to the emergency room in critical condition. When he was sent to the ward, the duty doctor declared him dead. Two of his injured associates have been admitted to Mymensingh Medical College.
Activists and relatives allege that he was killed under the leadership of BNP leader Riyad with the help of party opponents as he declared his candidature in the Gauripur municipality election.
