4 Bangladeshis killed in Bahrain road crash

Four Bangladeshis were killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Bahrain. The incident took place at Hamela in the country around 2.30 pm local time on Monday. Three of the dead have been identified.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Elahi of Cumilla Sadar, Ramzan of Jhalokati in Barishal, and Chan Mia of Madhupur in Tangail. The identity of the 4th dead could not be known.

Bangladesh Embassy Counselor (Labor) Sheikh Mohammad Touhidul Islam said two brothers Shahidul Islam and Enayet from Cumilla were admitted to the local BDF hospital in critical condition. The dead have been kept at the local Salmania Medical Complex.

Neighbors and eyewitnesses said five of the six victims worked for the same company. They lived in the capital Manama. On the day of the incident, while returning home after work, the driver of the private car lost control over its steering and went to the wrong side of the road, and was hit by another vehicle from behind. As a result, the two cars twisted. Four people died on the spot and two others were seriously injured.
