34 die, less than 2000 infected in a day in country

34 more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 3941 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 2,94,598 as 1973 new cases were confirmed during the period.
This information was given in a press release sent from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
According to the release, a total of 10,801 samples have been tested at 91 authorized coronavirus testing labs across the country over the last 24 hours.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Sunday afternoon, a total of 23,400,978 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 808,986 while 15,935,564 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
