33 more die in 24hrs in country, 3533 new infected

33 more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 2457 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 1,93,590 as 3533 new cases were confirmed during the period.
DGHS Additional Director General (administration) Prof Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure joining the daily health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) online on Wednesday.
A total of 14,002 samples have been tested at 79 authorized coronavirus testing labs across the country over the last 24 hours. Of these, 3533 have been diagnosed with coronavirus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 1,93,590 she said.
Meanwhile, 1796 more people have recovered from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 1,05,023, the health official said.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Wednesday afternoon, a total of 13,473,111 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 581,583 while 7,867,846 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
