32 die, 1436 infected in a day in country

32 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 5,251 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,63,479 as 1,436 new cases were confirmed during the period.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Wednesday.
According to the release, a total of 13,155 samples were tested at 108 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.
Besides, the recovery count rose to 2,75,487 after another 1,789 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Wednesday afternoon, a total of 33,875,993 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,013,199 while 25,172,971 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
