31 deaths, 1476 cases reported in 24hrs in country

31 more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 4733 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,37,520 as 1476 new cases were confirmed during the period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the information issuing a press release on Sunday.
According to the release, a total of 12,999 samples were tested at 93 authorized laboratories across the country during the time. Besides, the recovery count rose to 2,40,633 after another 2372 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Sunday afternoon, a total of 28,960,976 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 924,878 while 20,840,856 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
