3 workers killed in road crash while returning home

Three motorcycle riders were killed after being crushed by a truck while returning home from workplace in Muktagachha Upazila of the Mymensingh district.
The accident took place on the Mymensingh-Tangail highway in Rasulpur area under the Upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Selim Miah, 21, son of Abdur Rashid, Sabuj Miah, 20, son of Abul Qasem and Antar Miah, 19, son of Lal Mia. All the deceased hailed from Charipara village of the Upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muktagachha Police Station Dulal Akand said the workers were returning home after work as usual. The accident occurred when a speedy truck crushed a motorcycle carrying them in the area around 8:00 pm, leaving Selim dead on the spot and injuring other men.
Later, the wounded were taken to Muktagachha Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared Sobuj dead. Antar was shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) as his condition deteriorated. Later, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, the OC said.
Police detained the truck along with its driver, he added.
