3 women died from burns in Rangpur fire

Three women were burnt to death in Rangpur. They were burnt due to carelessness when warming themselves at the fire. They died while undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

The deceased were -- Razia Begum of Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat, Momena Begum of Aditmari, Swapna Rani of Fulbari of Dinajpur.

More than 11 injured people, who caught in the fire, are in critical condition and undergoing treatment in RMCH Hospital.

“Five of them are in critical condition,” said physicians of RMCH Hospital’s burn unit, adding that medical services are provided to patients suffering from burn injuries in hospital’s 6, 16 and 18no ward.

Divisional Head of Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery of Rangpur Medical College Hospital, Assistant Professor Dr. Maruful Islam said, “15 people that were burnt when warming themselves at the fire, have been admitted in the hospital.”

“Meanwhile, new patients are coming every day,” he added.
