Three killed in wild elephant attack in Chattogram

Three people were killed in separate attacks by a herd of wild elephant in Boalkhali Upazila of Chittagong on Sunday morning. 

The deceased were identified as Abu Taher Mistri, son of Abdul Latif of Sharif Para in central Kadhurkhil village, Zaker Hosain, son of Abdul Monaf of Chandarhat village and Abdul Mabud, son of Ali Ahmed of Kumarpara of Sripur-Kharandweep UP of the Upazila. 

Md Helaluddin Faruki, inspector (investigation) of Boalkhali police station said a herd of wild elephant attacked Abu Taher at around 6:30 am when he was working in the field near Chowdhurihat Bazar in central Kadhurkhil village, leaving him dead on the spot. Another one was injured in the incident. 

Meanwhile, the elephants attacked Zaker at around 7:00 am when he was working in the field beside his home, leaving him injured. Later, he was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. 

Besides, Abdul Mabud died on the spot this morning after being attacked by elephants at the field. 

On information, police recovered the bodies, said the Police Inspector.
