3 killed in ‘another’ Tangail road accidents

Within hours of an accident that killed three people in Tangail’s Mirzapur, two autorickshaws collided at Indutiya area in Tangail, killing two people, including a contractor and a pedestrian hit by a truck at Hamidpur in Ghatail upazila.
The accidents took place at Indutiya adjacent to Ashekpur bypass of Dhaka-Tangail Highway on Wednesday morning and at Hamidpur in Ghatail upazila.
One of the three killed has been identified. The deceased was identified as Khandaker Afzal Hossain, son of Matiur Rahman of Rampur village under Bhuapur upazila.
The injured are Laxman, Jibon, Zulhas, and Wahed Mia.
Witnesses said a motorbike collided with an autorickshaw in the Ashekpur area while going to Tangail city area from the highway. Two people were killed on the spot. The injured were later admitted to Tangail General Hospital. An unidentified pedestrian was killed after being hit by a truck at Hamidpur in Ghatail.
Tangail General Hospital police box in-charge Md. Nabeen said the bodies would be handed over to the family after the legal process.
Earlier in the morning, three people were killed when a microbus collided with a damaged covered van parking alongside the road near Pakulla bus stand in Mirzapur, Tangail.
