China’s police arrested a 35-year-old suspect over the incident of a knife attack at a Chinese supermarket
Three people were killed in a knife attack at a supermarket in southeastern China. Besides, 7 more people were injured in the incident.
The country’s police confirmed the matter on Friday, saying in a statement: “The incident took place at 9:40 pm local time at Putian town in Fujian province on Thursday. The 35-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.”
“The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital,” the statement said, adding that their condition is stable.
Earlier, knife attacks took place at a primary school in China on teachers and students. A security guard at the school carried out the attack, according to a report in the Chinese state-run daily. At least 40 people were injured in the attack.
Such knife attacks are common in China. There have been many such attacks on various educational institutions in China in recent years.
