3 among mother-son shot dead: Bodies handed over to families

The bodies of a woman, her child and a man, who were shot dead by an ASI on Sunday in broad daylight in Kushtia over extramarital affairs, have been handed over to the family and relatives on Monday morning.
They would be buried after Namaz-e-Janaza in their respective villages at noon, said the family of the deceased.
A case has been filed with Kushtia Model Police Station in the middle of the night in connection with the killing of his wife, stepson and a bKash worker named Shakil in Kushtia. Shakil’s father Mejbar Rahman filed a murder case against ousted ASI Soumen Roy, making him the only accused, confrimed Kushtia Model Police Station OC Sabbirul Alam
Meanwhile, ASI Soumen Roy has been suspended on Sunday (June 13) afternoon. A three-member probe body has been formed from Khulna Range.
Confirming the matter, Kushtia Superintendent of Police Khairul Alam said Soumen Roy was suspended after learning the incident. Action will be taken against him after the investigation, he added.
It is to be mentioned that ASI Soumen Roy shot dead three including a woman and her child in broad daylight in Kushtia city on Sunday morning. Police arrested Soumen from the spot along with weapons, ammunition and magazines.
