At least three members of the Indian Army have been killed in a border clash with Pakistani forces along with the disputed Jammu and Kashmir border. Five more people were injured in the incident.
New Delhi has said that the casualties were caused by shelling by Pakistani forces in violation of the ceasefire on the Indian-controlled Jammu and Kashmir border. This information was given in a report of Indian media NDTV on Thursday.
A spokesman for the Indian Defense Forces said two Indian soldiers were killed and four others wounded in a shelling by Pakistani forces in the Naogaon sector of Kupwara district in north Kashmir on Wednesday night. The injured soldiers were rescued and admitted to the hospital. Besides, another Indian soldier was killed and another was injured in a ceasefire violation near Mankot and Krishna base sector in Poonch district.
The Indian military says the ceasefire was violated by firing with small arms at firs without provocation, but Pakistan fired mortar shells at the end.
The official said the Indian military had responded appropriately. However, it was not known whether the Pakistani army suffered casualties in the separate shelling.
