Bishwa Ijtema begins Friday

The first phase of the 57th Bishwa Ijtema will begin tomorrow after the Fazr prayer on the bank of Turag.
Thousands of devotees have already gathered on the banks of the Turag River in Tongi to join in Ijtema, which is considered as second largest convention of Muslim community in the world.
Although it is expected to begin officially after Fajr prayers on Friday, Aam Bayan (general sermons) by noted scholars already began at the venue after Fazr prayers on Thursday.
This year, the first phase of the 57th Bishwa Ijtema will take place from January 10 to January 12.
Ijtema committee and the administration has taken all the necessary preparations works aiming to hold the Ijtema peacefully.
Law enforcement agencies including police, RAB, BGB and Ansar will remain deployed at the Ijtema ground and at the entry points of the venue areas.
On January 12, the first phase of the Ijtema this year will be ended through Akheri Munajat.
