2.86 lakh new infected, 6227 die in a day globally

In the last 24 hours, 286,000 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 6227 died from the pandemic. India has the highest number of infections while maximum deaths are in the United States.
As of Thursday, a total of 28,029,608 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 908,050 while 20,106,316 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
The United States, the worst-hit country in the world, has seen the highest death toll of 1209 in the last 24 hours. The country is still at the top in coronavirus deaths and infections. A total of 195,239 people died in the country due to the virus and more than 6.54 million have been infected.
India registered 95,529 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 4,465,863. India has the second-highest number of active cases and ranks third in the COVID-19 death toll. The country’s death toll is 75,091 after 1,168 people succumbed to the viral disease.
The Latin American country of Brazil has seen the third-highest death toll of 1,136 in the last 24 hours. The death toll in the country has exceeded 1.28 lakh. The total number of cases has exceeded 4.19 million with more than 34,000 new infections.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
