275,424 Covid-19 cases, 3,761 deaths registered in a day globally

In the last 24 hours, 275,424 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 3,761 died from the pandemic. India has seen the highest number of infections and deaths during the period.
As of Tuesday noon, a total of 38,083,666 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,086,044 while 28,628,473 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
India reported 54,265 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 7,173,565 while 6,224,792 people have recuperated so far. The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 109,894 with 710 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours. India has the second-highest number of active cases and ranks third in the COVID-19 death toll.
The Latin American country of Argentina has seen the second-highest death toll of 318 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 24,186. The total number of cases has exceeded to 903,730 with 9,524 new infections.
The United States, the worst-hit country in the world, has seen the third-highest death toll of 316 in the last 24 hours. The country is still at the top in coronavirus deaths and infections. A total of 220,011 people died in the country due to the pandemic and 8,037,789 have been infected so far.
Iran has registered the fourth-highest death toll of 272 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 28,816 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 504,281 as 4,206 new cases were confirmed during the period.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 214 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
