23 more die of Covid-19 in Khulna division

Twenty-three more people died of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the past 24 hours in the Khulna division, taking the tally to 939 in the division. At the same time, 1,322 people were infected with the virus during the same time in the division which is an all-time high. Earlier, on June 18, the highest 1,033 tested positive for the virus.

Rasheda Sultana, director of the departmental health department, said this on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, on Thursday 20 people died of the virus and 916 people were infected. In other words, the number of deaths and cases has increased in the last 24 hours as compared to the previous day.

According to the Divisional Health Director's Office, among the dead in the last 24 hours, 7 in Kushtia, 5 in Khulna, 5 in Jashore, 2 in Jhenaidah, one each in Chuadanga, Satkhira, Bagerhat, and Meherpur.

The first corona patient was identified in the Khulna division on March 19 last year in Chuadanga. A total of 50,117 people have been infected with the virus in 10 districts of the division since the onset of corona infection till Friday morning. The death toll has risen to 939. So far, 35, 922 people have recovered from the virus.

Analysis of district-wise corona-related data of the departmental health department shows that 332 people have been infected in Khulna in the last 24 hours. A total of 14,171 corona cases have been detected in the district so far while 233 people died and 10,349 have recovered.

In Bagerhat, 73 people have been infected with the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the tally to 2,008 in the district. So far, 74 people died of the virus and 2,038 people recovered.

In Satkhira, 46 people have been infected with the virus in 24 hours, bringing the tally to 3,177 in the district. So far, 66 have died of the virus while 2,232 people have returned home after recovering.

In the last 24 hours, 370 cases have been detected in Jashore, taking the tally of infection to 10,720 in the district. During this time 124 people died and 6,069 people recovered.

In 24 hours, 38 Covid-19 cases have been reported in Narail, taking the tally to 2,461in the district. So far, 36 people died of the virus in the district while 1,929 have recovered.

In Magura, 10 new Covid-19 cases reported in 24 hours, raising the tally of infection to 1,000 in the district. So far, 25 people died of the virus and 1,235 people recovered.

In Jhenaidah, 179 positive cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 3,890 in the district. So far, 80 people died from the virus in the district while 2,939 people recovered.

In 24 hours, 111 people have been infected with Covid-19 in Kushtia, taking the tally to 6,912 in the district. A total of 180 people died of the virus while 5,222 people recovered.

In Chuadanga, 116 Covid-19 cases have been reported in 24 hours, taking the tally to 2,953. So far, 82 people died of the virus and 2,049 people recovered.

In Meherpur, 45 fresh cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, taking the tally of infection to 1,540. So far, 39 people have died and 1,040 have recovered.
