229 students, teachers test COVID positive in Maharashtra school

A total of 229 people have been infected with the coronavirus at a school hostel in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. Among the virus cases – 225 students and four teachers.

According to the Indian Express, 26 students were found in a COVID-positive condition in the hostel in the Wasim district. Then all the students were tested for the virus. Most of the affected students are hailing from Amravati. The hostel has already been declared as a “Containment Zone”.

According to the state health department, 8,807 new Covid-19 patients have been identified in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. Besides, 80 people died at the same time. So far, a total of 21,21,119 virus cases have been identified in the state.
