2260 more Rohingyas reach Bhasan Char

Six ships of the Bangladesh Navy carrying 2260 Rohingyas reached Bhashan Char
Some 2260 more Rohingyas have reached Bhasan Char in Noakhali from the camps in Cox's Bazar on the first day in the fifth phase of relocation process.
Six ships of the Bangladesh Navy carrying them reached the island in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday noon.
With this, the number of Rohingyas in Bhasan Char surpassed 12,000. Earlier, the ships left the Chattogram Boat Club jetty in the port city's Patenga area for Bhashan Char.
Bhasan Char Police Station OC Md Mahe Alam said 2,260 Rohingyas were unloaded from the ship and assembled at the Ware House by bus after a preliminary health check-up. There they were briefed about the rules and regulations of living in Bhasan Char. At the end of the briefing, they were transferred to the cluster villages.
The first group of 1,642 Rohingyas reached Bhasan Char on December 4, the second batch of 1,804 Rohingyas on December 29, in 2020 and the 3rd batch of 1,778 Rohingyas on January 29, fourth batch 1,464 Rohingya on January 30 and 5th batch 2010 Rohingya reached on February 15 and 1,021 Rohingya reached on February 16 at Bhasan Char under the supervision of the Bangladesh Navy, sources said.
