215 homeless families to get ‘new houses’ in Dinajpur

Dreams come true for 215 poor families as they are set to receive brick-built houses from the Prime Minister as a gift on the occasion of Mujib Year at Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur.
A total of 43 brick-built houses are being constructed under the Asrayan-2 project at five points including Nayapara and Dakshin Nagar villages of Isabpur union of the upazila. The cost of construction of the houses has been estimated at Tk 3 crore 76 lakh 65 thousand while the cost of each house has been estimated at Tk 1 lakh 71 thousand.
It is reported that red tin has been used in the houses. The two-room house has a kitchen and toilet. The construction of the houses is very close to end. Now the work of painting and doors and windows is going on. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the shelter project at Chirirbandar on January 23 at 10:30 am via video conference.
Upazila project implementation officer Md Monowarul Islam said UNO Ayesha Siddique has been supervising the construction work since the beginning of the work. She is always keeping an eye on the work.
UNO Ayesha Siddique said 215 poor families are getting houses at Chirirbandar upazila as a gift from the Prime Minister. The houses will be handed over soon after the work has been completed.
