In the outbreak of Coronavirus, the government issued the 'Information Technology Use Ordinance 2020 by the Court' on May 9. At the same time special instructions were issued by the high court. This opens the way for virtual courts to operate using information technology. From 12 to 19 May, in just 7 days, 205 children got bail through the virtual court. Among them are 126 boys of Child Development Center, Tongi, 66 of Jashore Center and 12 girls of Konabari Center.
Point to be noted that, the Department of Social Services has been operating three child development centers in the country. The centers are located at Tongi and Konabari in Gazipur district and Jessore. Of these, two centers in Tongi and Jessore are for boys and the center in Konabari is for girls.
