20 injured clash between two groups in Sunamganj

At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups over previous malice at Jagannathpur in Sunamganj. The incident took place at Ramapatipur village in Pailgaon union of the upazila on Friday noon.

Among the injured seven were taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital while the rest were given treatment at local hospital. 

According to locals, Kajal Mia and Ashkir Ali of Ramapatipur had a long-standing feud over the village road. The two sides had a quarrel on Friday afternoon. At one stage, people from both sides clashed with domestic weapons leaving 20 people injured.

Jagannathpur Police Station SI Rafiq Islam said the two sides had clashed a few days ago. Police were dispatched to the spot after receiving news of the clash again on Friday. Currently, the situation is under control.
