Two people were killed in a microbus- CNG auto-rickshaw collision in Gaibandha Sadar. Four more autorickshaw passengers were injured in the incident. The accident took place around 9:45 pm on Tuesday night at Dighi area of ​​Thakur on Dariyapur road.

The deceased were identified as CNG auto-rickshaw driver Khorshed Alam, son of Majnu Mia of Math Bazar village of Sadar’s Kholahati UP, and passenger Roman Mia, son of Abul Hossain of Lengar Bazar of Sundarganj Upazila.

Two of the injured were identified as Lokman of Khorddomalibari village and Arif Mia of Mather Par village of the sadar. They were also auto passengers.

According to local, a CNG-driven autorickshaw from Gaibandha was on its way to Dariyapur Bazar. The collision took place when the microbus carrying wedding passengers of Gaibandha reached Dighi area of ​​Thakur. The auto driver was killed on the spot. Four people were injured. On information, fire service personnel rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital. Roman died while under treatment there.

“The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital. Later, two of them were rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. The bodies of two, microbus and CNG autorickshaw were recovered and taken to the police station,” said Khan MD Shahriar, officer-in0charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station.
