Two doctors were killed on the way back to the Bangabandhu Bridge in Tangail. The accident took place in the East circle area of  the Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Mayen Uddin Hamem, son of Moslem Uddin of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila and Sadia Islam Nodi, daughter of Saidur Rahman of Kapasia Upazila of Gazipur. Both of them were intern doctors at Tangail General Hospital.

Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station SI Zayed Abdullah Bin Sarwar said that Hamem and Sadia were returning to work after visiting Bangabandhu Bridge. At that time, a bus of Govindganj Travels, which had left from North Bengal, had hit them and fled away. They died on the spot.

The bus was recovered from the Kamakshamor area of Kalihati Upazila, he added. However, the driver and helper fled away.
