‘1st dose to be given besides COVID’s 2nd dose’

All the preparations have been completed for giving the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine across the country from April 8. Besides, the first dose of the vaccine will also be given, said Dr. Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, director-general (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
“A letter has been sent from the DGHS to the district administration and police administration across the country to make the lockdown effective. The campaign is being carried out to raise awareness among the general people,” he also said.
He told reporters at the Circuit House after inspecting the Covid-19 unit in Manikganj District Hospital on Monday.
Everyone has to follow the government instructions during the lockdown, Khurshid Alam said. “Legal action has been announced against those who disobey the directives.”
“We all have to admit that this lockdown has been given to protect the countrymen from COVID. Therefore, in order to implement the lockdown, we must be aware and follow the government instructions.”
The DGHS DG said the Manikganj district hospital has been inspected. Covid-19 units will be set up where central oxygen is present. “The corona unit, the central oxygen supply, can use the hypogenic canola. All in all, the facilities available in an ICEO have been arranged in Manikganj 250 bed hospital. It will launch next Thursday.”
During the visit, the DGHS directors and health officials were present.
