19 more die at RMCH COVID unit

As many as 19 more deaths have been registered at the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
Among the deaths, seven tested positive for Covid-19 and the rest displayed symptoms consistent with the disease.
RMCH director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani confirmed the information this morning (August 3, 2021).
"From 8:00 am on Monday to 8:00 am on Tuesday, the people - nine men and 10 women - died in different wards of RMCH. Of them, seven were from Rajshahi, five from Natore, four from Chapanawabganj, two from Naogaon, and one from Pabna," he said.
Meanwhile, 47 people have been admitted to RMCH in the last 24 hours while 30 others returned home after recovery. With the new patients, a total of 392 patients are now undergoing treatment in the 513-bed corona unit of the Hospital as of this morning.
In the last 24 hours, 135 covid patients have been detected after testing 555 samples in two labs of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.
