17 more deaths in Khulna’s 3 hospitals

As many as 17 patients have died at the Covid units of three Khulna hospitals in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am on Tuesday.
Of them, eight died at Corona-dedicated units in Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), five in Khulna General Hospital and four in private Gazi Medical College Hospital.
Resident medical officer and spokesperson of the Covid unit at KMCH Dr Suhas Ranjan Halder said that eight patients at the unit died in 24 hours till this morning. Of them, four tested positive for Covid-19 and the rest displayed symptoms consistent with the disease.
As of 8:00 am, 180 people are undergoing treatment at the unit, and of them, 109 are in red zone, 31 in yellow zone and 20 at intensive care unit (ICU). In the last 24 hours, 33 people have been admitted to the unit and 40 have returned home after recovery.
Gazi Medical College Hospital owner Gazi Mizanur Rahman said, four patients died while undergoing treatment at the hospital's Covid unit during 24 hours till 8:00 am. Besides, 134 patients are now undergoing treatment there. Of them, nine were in ICU and 11 in HDU. In the last 24 hours, 36 people have been admitted at the unit while 17 returned home after recovery, he added.
Meanwhile, five patients died while undergoing treatment at the Covid unit of Khulna General Hospital, said the unit's spokesperson Dr Kazi Abu Rashed.
Besides, 70 people - 36 men and 34 women - are now undergoing treatment at the unit. In the last 24 hours, 24 people have been admitted at the unit while 13 returned home after recovery, he added.
