A delegation of BGB will go to Myanmar on Wednesday to bring back 17 Bangladeshi people after suffering different sentences in Myanmar prisons.
A 13-member Bangladeshi delegation led by Lt. Colonel Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, a commander of Teknaf 2 Border Guard Battalion, will leave Teknaf on Wednesday.
According to BGB sources, the 13-member Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will leave for Myanmar at the Teknaf Sadar Chowkir Jeti Ghat by speedboat.
There will be a flag meeting between the two countries in Myanmar’s Maungdaw Immigration and National Registration Department immigration center. After the end of the meeting, 17 people were supposed to return with the BGB through the end of the trial.
Teknaf-2 BGB Deputy Commander Major Shariful Islam Jumdader said the information on Tuesday afternoon.
He said that at least 17 Bangladeshis were detained for the illegal intrusion by the Myanmar authorities. The BGB took the initiative to bring them back to the country due to end of the prison term.
He also said that the delegation of DC and SP will also be present along with BGB.
