16 more fatalities count at M’singh Medical’s Corona unit

16 more people have lost lives in the last 24 hours at the Corona unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), of these, 8 died of Covid-19 and 8 died with symptoms while undergoing treatment.
Dr. Mohiuddin Khan Moon, a spokesman of the RMCH’s Corona unit, said 5 from Mymensingh, 2 from Netrokona and one from Tangail succumbed to the Covid-19 from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am.
Besides, 5 from Mymensingh, one each from Jamalpur, Sherpur, and Kishoreganj died with virus symptoms during the period, he also said.
Dr. Mohiuddin Khan Moon added 490 people are currently admitted to the Corona unit, 22 of them are in ICU. 85 people were newly admitted and 53 people left the hospital after recovery.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 653 sample tests were conducted in Mymensingh district, yielding the virus positivity among 207 people with a detection rate of 31.74 percent, said civil surgeon Dr. Nazrul Islam.
