Fishes die after poisoning on a fish farm by miscreants

Miscreants have killed about 150 mounds of fish by poison on the farm of a trainee lawyer in Kaliganj, Gazipur. The incident took place at Bhasania village in Nagari UP of the upazila.

Farm owner Golam Kibria, son of Kabir Khan of Birgaon village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria and a trainee lawyer of Dhaka Judge Court, lodged a written complaint with Kaliganj Police Station on Friday.

Kaliganj Ulukhola police outpost in-charge Md. Zakir Hossain said Kibria bought land in the Bhasania area of ​​Nagari UP in Kaliganj and started a fish farm as a hobby. Some miscreants poured poison on the farm at night two days ago. All the fish of the farm died and floated away.

He further said that after receiving the written complaint, he went to the spot and found the truth. “Legal action will be taken in this regard,” Md. Zakir Hossain added.

The victim lawyer Golam Kibria said his caretaker called him on Wednesday morning and told him all the fish on the pond had died. Later, he went there and saw around 150 mounds of fish of different species had died and floated away. It has caused him a loss of Tk 10 lakh.
