At least 15 people have been killed in shootouts on the United States-Mexico border.
The incident took place at the Mexican border city, Reynosa, on Saturday.
Law enforcement authorities in the bordering Mexican state of Tamaulipas said the attacks began in various neighborhoods in the eastern part of the border town early Saturday afternoon, local time. One person was killed near a border bridge during the attack. However, it is not yet clear whether the others were killed in random attacks or were targeted.
Authorities say they have arrested a man whose car found two women. It is thought they were abducted.
In a tweet, Reynosa Mayor Maki Esther Ortiz Domínguez called on law enforcement to investigate the cause of the attack and ensure the safety of citizens.
