The auctions for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) likely to be held on February 11, with the BCCI giving a deadline of January 20 to the franchises to submit their list of retained and released players.

According to Indian media, the auction for IPL 2021 may be held on February 11. However, no final decision has been made yet on where the day-long auction will take place. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked eight franchises to submit lists of released and retained cricketers by January 20.

Although the date and center of the IPL 2021 have not been decided yet, it is certain that eight-team will contest for the title. The IPL 2022 will be held with the participation of 10 teams. The decision was finalized at the BCCI's annual general meeting in December. From that, it can be said that a mega auction may be held before IPL 2022.

The venue for the auction, which will be a day-long event, has not been finalized yet either. However, it will take place in the short break between the first and the second Test of the India-England Test series which begins in February. The first two Tests of the England series are scheduled in Chennai with the first match to be played between February 5-9. The second Test will run from 13th to 17th.
