14 more COVID deaths in a day

14 more people have died from the coronavirus in the country while 845 others infected in the last 24 hours. With the latest data information, the death toll from the pandemic has risen to 8,476 while the tally of infections has surged to 551,175. 

Earlier on Sunday, 606 cases were diagnosed while 11 deaths related to the disease were reported. 

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed in a press release on Monday (March 8, 2021). 

According to the release, the recovery count rose to 504,127 after another 1,117 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period. 

A total of 16,958 samples were tested at 219 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.

The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
