13 Barishal BNP men hurt in attack by AL men

At least 13 BNP activists were injured in separate attacks allegedly by the supporters of ruling party MP Pankaj Debnath in Mehendiganj upazila on Wednesday.
Witnesses said BNP candidate for Barishal-4 constituency Mejbahuddin Farhad along with his party activists were returning home after submitting his nomination paper to the UNO’s office in the afternoon.
On their way home, supporters of local Awami League MP Pankaj Debnath launched a separate attack on them at Dakshin Bazar Bridge and Mehendiganj Launch terminal area, leaving 13 people, including the BNP candidate’s younger brother Jahir Uddin Nishat, alleged BNP president of Mehendiganj upazila unit, Rafikul Islam Babu.
Sub-inspector of Mehendiganj Police Station Mahbub said they would take legal action if any complaint is lodged over the matter.
